Mirror Mirror Where's the Crystal Palace?

Rii Kalira

Rii Kalira is a Mithra from Windurst, the older sister of a pair of identical twins. She and her twin, Kii Kalira, were born to mother Lokh Kalira, on May 16th of 867. Due to their mother's job (not that they know what it is) taking her traveling often and for long periods of time, Rii grew up wild and mainly uncontrolled. She is, however, fiercely loyal to the few people she likes -- and they are few, indeed. She adores her twin, and would do anything for her.

Though dreaming of becoming a great ranger, Rii Kalira has instead taken up the mantle of a white mage upon Kii's death. Through a case of mistaken identity, she started traveling with Jenare Richille under the guise of her sister, slowly adjusting herself to the life of a healer. Recently, however, their dream team fell apart as Jenare discovered her lies.

Rii Kalira is on FFXI in the Midgarsormr server under the name "Arivess" (originally, she was on Seraph as "Kalira", but that name was taken on Midgarsormr). She is a pearlsack holder for the linkshell Mythopoeia.

Jenare Richille

Jenare Richille is an Elvaan from San d'Oria, a couple of years older than Rii and Kii. He is all knightly chivalry and, in Rii's opinion, totally boring. He befriended Kii Kalira when he visited Windurst in 883, though Rii didn't have much interest in him beyond the initial novelty of seeing an Elvaan.

Upon first meeting, Rii wasn't particularly interested in having anything to do with Jenare. Soon, however, she found herself in a most unusual partnership. But as people through the ages have said, lies would always come back to haunt you. While Rii and Jenare grew closer together, the truth behind Rii's identity came into the open, now pushing the two farther apart than ever before.

Jenare is in Final Fantasy XI on the Midgarsormr server under the same name, and is played by Jami. He is the shell holder for the Mythopoeia linkshell. His journal is at Thoughts from the Otherworld.

Kii Kalira

Kii Kalira was Rii Kalira's beloved twin. She was as calm as her sister was wild, and took care of domestic duties when their mother was away. She smiled easily, and made many friends; she was, in fact, something of an oddball for a Mithra, more interested in helping people than furthering her own interests. She had always wanted to be a white mage. When Jenare Richille visited Windurst, Kii took to him immediately, and the two began a friendship through the writing of letters.

Kii died only a few months before her -- and Rii's -- 18th birthday, and her death hit Rii hard, setting her on her path to become a white mage to carry on her twin sister's dreams... and name, it seemed. Only recently has Rii really come to terms with Kii's death.

Lokh Kalira

The mother of Rii and Kii Kalira, Lokh Kalira is a Mithra originally from Kazham who had, decades ago, settled down in Windurst. She would not tell her daughters who their father is.

Lokh is irresponsible as far as mothers go, and often went -- and still goes -- on long trips, leaving her young kittens at home by themselves. Behind her laughing, teasing exterior, however, Lokh has a sharp mind, and does care for her children. Truly regretting not even being around when Kii died, she now piled her attention on her remaining daughter, however manipulative and unwanted that attention was. She has, for the time being, returned to Windurst and started learning clothcrafting in an attempting to help Rii on her journey. She also occasionally comes up with ridiculous reasons to search for and bother Jenare in an effort to find out more about this man whose life was thus tied to her children's.

Lokh is found on the Midgarsormr server under the name "Lokh".

Ellanore Delouvien

Rii does occasionally make friends on her own, and one friend is Ellanore Delouvien, a pretty Elvaan from San d'Oria. The two first met during Starlight Celebration (885), when a wandering Rii was requested by a moogle to exchange cards with Ellanore. They met again randomly one day, and Rii decided to help her, whereupon the two struck up a friendship of sorts.

On a not-really-related note, she is the fiancee of Jenare's good friend Endahren.

Ellanore is found on the Midgarsormr server under... her own name. Some of her story is found here.

Crimthan

Crimthan is a hume from Bastok, an aspiring woodworker. Rii met him during the Sunbreeze Festival of 886, when Lokh lugged her around the world in an effort to make her feel better about her falling out with Jenare. Rii, at the time, decided that she should become more like her sister, and escorted Crimthan to San d’Oria. The two occasionally meet, and Rii helps with what she can.

Crimthan is found on the Midgarsormr server under his name.

Yintsotso

Lokh Kalira has friends as well! One such is Yintsotso, a very tiny tarutaru living in San d’Oria. Yintsotso met and befriended Lokh years ago, when she was visiting Windurst. Having a taste for fine cuisine and preferring furniture built for people less than four times her height, Yintsotso very often visits her people’s homeland. In fact, many people have asked her why she did not simply stay there. She couldn’t tell them herself, really, but it was something of a mix between patriotism – she was born in San d’Oria – and a sense of amusement.

Yintsotso is found on the Midgarsormr server under her name.

Ruri

Ruri is a craftsman from Bastok and the father of Rii and Kii Kalira. He is a short hume whose family came from the Far East when he was young. He took up most handicrafts with ease, and soon made his way through the world by selling various trinkets he made.

During the Crystal War, Ruri made and delivered weapons to all the nations, and met Lokh Kalira while in Windurst. The two struck up a friendship that slowly turned into something else towards the end of the war. They tried to start a family, but it ended in disaster when Ruri began to love his art more than anything else. Eventually, Lokh took her kittens with her back to Windurst to raise.

Lokh and Ruri are currently on friendly terms again, though Lokh still refuses to tell her children – well, remaining child – that he is their father.
